Leicestershire County Council will be implementing a temporary closure of the footpath between Hobby Close and School Crescent for public safety.
The footpath will be closed for one day on:
FRIDAY 31 May 2019

The Parish Council are sad to announce the passing of Rodney Briggs. Rodney was a hard working, conscientious Senior Groundsmen who worked tirelessly for the Parish of Broughton Astley for over 25 years, he was due to retire at the end of this month. Rodney was well respected by Councillors, colleagues and local residents, he will be greatly missed.

BROUGHTON ASTLEY PARISH COUNCIL
The Parish Council will be closed on Good Friday 19 April 2019 and Easter Monday 22 April 2019 and will re-open at 9.00am on Tuesday 23 April 2019

Elections for the District Council will be held on Thursday 2 May 2019.
Elections will be held for both Wards as they are contested.

COMMENCING 10 MARCH 2019
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTEO) is to be made for the following location:
Main Street, Orchard Road, Leicester Road and Blenheim Crescent, Broughton Astley (see attached map).
The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure and parking restrictions.
It is anticipated that the works shall not exceed two weeks duration.

The Women's Institute are holding a Tabletop Sale/Boot Fair on Saturday 2nd March 2019 at the Broughton Astley Village Hall.
Doors open at 10.00am to conclude at 1.00pm.

Following a visit from Harborough District Council's Environmental Officer, who's post incorporates Dog Warden Duties, it was confirmed that no formal complaints had been reported to the District Council. Leicestershire County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:
To impose a No Waiting at Any Time on part of Broughton Way, Buxton Crescent, Box Road and Cottage Lane, Broughton Astley.

The Parish Council has been informed that unauthorised access has been made into the former Brick Works Quarry off Speedwell Road and that trees and shrubs have been unlawfully cut down.
This area is the only noted Nature Reserve within the village supported by the Rutland Wildlife Trust. Damage to the flora and fauna can and will have a devastating and detrimental effect on the plants and wildlife... Read More »
