ROAD SIGN CLARIFICATION

The Parish Council office has received notification from Leicestershire County Council Highways clarifying the signage displayed on Coopers Lane, Dunton Bassett and Cottage Lane, Broughton Astley.

FOOTHPATH CLOSURE

The Parish Council have been advised that the public footpath from the George and Dragon public house to Hobby Close and a further section from School Close to Cosby Road will be closed from 9 September 2019 for approximately 4 weeks.

The work is to make improvements to the footpaths.

CONSULTATION - MANDATORY 'SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR' MARKINGS

Leicestershire County Council gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to impose a Mandatory School Keep Clear - Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm on part of Station Road and Blenheim Crescent, Broughton Astley.

TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE

Leicestershire County Council will be implementing a temporary closure of the footpath between Hobby Close and School Crescent for public safety.

The footpath will be closed for one day on:

ALLOTMENT CAR PARK CLOSURE

After being approached by Leicestershire County Council, the Parish Council are closing the car park at the allotment from 8 March to 17 March inclusive.

This is to allow the storage of vehicles and materials to be used in the re-surfacing works on Main Street, Orchard Road etc.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

PERMISSIVE FOOTPATH

A (temporary) permissive footpath has been installed and opened by Leicestershire County Council (with permission of Jelson Ltd) to provide a safe route for pedestrians from Cosby Road to the new Aldi store.

The entrance / exit is opposite Willowbrook Road and follows the boundary hedge around the field and the exit / entrance is by the light controlled crossing on Broughton Way.

GRIT BINS AND SNOWY WEATHER

With inclement weather forecast again this week, the Parish Council would like to re-cap on the responsibilities of public authorities in relation to precautionary gritting and clearance of snow and ice.
