Warning for parents parking on yellow zig-zag lines outside school.

As we increasingly see parents parking and dropping off on the clearly marked areas opposite the schools on Station Road, please remind yourselves of the rules, before there is another accident.

It is illegal to park on yellow zig-zag lines anywhere. Rule 243 of the Highway Code states that drivers must not wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, near a school entrance, anywhere that has been made obvious with yellow zig-zags on the road.

Parking outside a school specifically may obstruct visibility for parents and children trying to cross the road and is thus highly dangerous.
