Foodbank Christmas Appeal

Foodbank Christmas Appeal

Dear Supporters,

We do hope that you are all safe and well as we move towards the end of the year once again. It has certainly been a turbulent year again but one in which we have been overwhelmed by your wonderful generosity.

We are so grateful to every one of you who has generously donated money and supplies to us as part of your Harvest celebrations. We have been very busy over the past weeks and months, seeing more and more clients referred to us because of job losses, illness, or changes to their circumstances because of the pandemic. Indeed, we have seen a 4% increase in the number of 3-day food parcels donated to our clients since January, in comparison to the same time last year. This increase is on top of the almost 80% increase we saw last year as a result of the pandemic. There are still many more challenges ahead, as we start to feel the effects of the reducing of mitigations introduced to support people during the pandemic such as the £20 Universal credit uplift.
Thank you to you all for supporting us so that we have been able to meet that sustained increase in need in our communities.

If you are in need or know someone who is, do contact one of our local referral agencies to access our support:

Our thoughts are now turning to Christmas and so as we asked at Harvest, if you are wishing to support us this Christmas time, please would you consider giving a financial donation instead of festive items? A financial gift will help to make our services sustainable and allow us to plan for the future, keeping our operation Covid-secure and our volunteers safe.

If you would like to support us in this way; please do clickhereto donate online or check out our website for details on how to make a donation.

Could you perhaps sign up to give a regular monthly donation to us? Or are you part of an organisation or business who might like to support us financially?

Alternatively, if you would prefer to donate food, please do check the poster below, plus our website and social media pages for details of our most-needed items, so that we can ensure that valuable storage space is dedicated to the most essential food parcel items.

We know how generous our community is in wanting to provide extra Christmas treats for our clients, so we are planning to offer all our clients who are referred to us in December a supermarket gift voucher along with their food parcel. This will allow our clients to access items that we are unable to provide and to give them an opportunity to choose their own Christmas treats for their family. If you would like to support us with this, then please do make a financial donation as above. All donations will be very gratefully received.

Thank you all for your continued support; may you all have a peaceful Christmas.

With our very best wishes
