PROPOSED IMPLEMENTATION OF ONE WAY

STATEMENT OF REASONS

A one way is being proposed on Main Street and Green Road, Broughton Astley. The one way is being introduced to help with congestion, improve traffic flow, reduce the number of conflict points for motorists which can help reduce the number of collisions and to improve pedestrian crossing movements by having more orderly gaps in traffic.

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Sections 1 (1), 2 (1), 2(2), 4, and 5, of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be: 1. To introduce a one-way traffic flow operating on various lengths of Main Street and Green Road, Broughton Astley A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan illustrating the proposals and an explanatory statement giving the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at my offices, Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RA, at the offices of Harborough District Council, The Symington Building, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough LE16 7AG and on the notice board of Broughton Astley Parish Council. Documents can also be viewed online at https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/roads-andtravel/cars-and-parking/traffic-management-consultations Objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing to the undersigned by not later than 10th December 2021, quoting reference JM/HTWMT/5013.
