Please see below information received from Harborough District Council regarding any missed bin collections from yesterday.

Due to the accumulation of snow in some areas of Harborough district this week, some bin collections have been affected.

Harborough District Council's bin collection crews are out today (Thurs) in some areas and will carry out scheduled collections where it is safe to do so.

Main roads are generally clear; however it is not possible for crews to access all villages and streets due to the icy conditions. Our crews are assessing each area, as they go, to establish whether lorries and crews are able to safely carry out collections.

Yesterday (Wed) black bins were collected in parts of Broughton Astley. Crews will return to Broughton Astley today (Thurs) to try to pick up black bins which they were unable to collect yesterday.

Crews will also be returning to some streets in Lutterworth today (Thurs) which they could not access yesterday to pick up recycling bins.

They will also be returning to Shawell, Cotesbach, Swinford, Catthorpe, Walcote (recycling bins) which crews were unable to empty yesterday – but only if it is safe to do so.

Residents are being asked NOT to report bins as a missed collection – instead they should leave any missed bins presented and our crews will endeavour to collect when the weather conditions allow.

There will be further updates on the District Councils website and on social media.
