Have You Got Your Green Bin Sticker?

Posted: Fri, 06 Jan 2017 12:11 by Alison

Subscriptions are now open for residents in the Harborough district to have their garden waste collected from April 2017.

Harborough District Council is inviting residents to sign up for an annual subscription fee of £40 per green bin.

Those who sign up for the service will have their garden waste collected on a fortnightly basis between the months of April 2017 and November 2017 and during March 2018. Garden waste collections will not take place during the winter months of December and February. A one-off garden waste collection will take place in January 2018.

Last year, nearly 19,000 residents in the Harborough district signed up to the garden waste collection service.

Cllr Neil Bannister, Harborough District Council's portfolio holder for environmental services, said: "I am pleased so many residents benefited from the scheme last year and that the council is able to continue to provide this service for the same yearly subscription fee. I would encourage residents to sign up sooner rather than later to make sure they have their green bin sticker so they can have their garden waste collected from April 2017."

Garden waste will be continue to be collected from all green bins displaying a sticker on the same days as the blue-lidded recycling bins unless residents have previously been notified of a different arrangement.

Sign up to the garden waste service online via the Harborough District Council website at or call 01858 828282.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe before 3 March 2017 to ensure they receive their green bin sticker by 1 April 2017.
