There is just over a week to go before Harborough District Council's consultation on leisure provision in the district closes.

Visit www.harborough.gov.uk/active to complete the survey on line by 15 August 2017.

New Signs Warn Dog Owners to be Responsible!

New signs have been put up across the Harborough district urging dog owners to walk their pets responsibly.

The signs warn dog owners that they could face fixed fines of £500 – or up to £1,000 if convicted – if they allow their dog to foul, do not put it on a lead when instructed, or fail to produce a bag to pick after their pets.

Have You Got Your Green Bin Sticker?

Subscriptions are now open for residents in the Harborough district to have their garden waste collected from April 2017.

Harborough District Council is inviting residents to sign up for an annual subscription fee of £40 per green bin.

Extra Garden Waste Pick-Up for Subscribers

Residents in the Harborough district who have already subscribed to the council's garden waste collection service will receive an extra green bin collection in January.

Harborough District Council has agreed that green bins will be collected during the weeks commencing 9 and 16 January 2017 on the normal recycling collection day (when the blue-lidded recycling bin is collected).

Broughton Astley Carnival 2016

'The Best of British'

Saturday 25 June 2016, 12 noon to 5pm at Thomas Estley Field and Village Hall.

Parade starts at 12 noon.

Charity’s welcome boost thanks to funding

A local charity, which supports those with long term health conditions, has been able to help more people thanks to a grant.

BestLife, a new charitable organisation based in Broughton Astley, has been able to provide additional services after it received just under £1,000 through the Staying Healthy Community grant scheme, which is provided by Harborough District Council and Public Health at Leicestershire County Council.. The 'Afternoon Tea Dance' in celebration of The Queen's 90th birthday on Thursday 21 April 2016 has been cancelled.
